On-Page SEO Implementation

This project shows my ability to apply SEO techniques within WordPress sites, focusing on both user experience and technical optimization. Using only free tools, I am able to improve site speed, indexability, structure, and visibility, creating sites that not only look good, but also perform well in search engines.

I will highlight some of the basic SEO tasks I can apply to a website. However, just like with the WordPress management project, the best way to understand my work is by visiting the live websites and seeing the results directly.

1. SEO audit and keyword research

If the website already exists, I begin with a SEO audit to understand its current state, identify gaps and determine which keywords are already driving traffic. Afterward, I build a keyword strategy that aligns with both the user and the business goals.

If I start a website from scratch, I do keyword research to detect terms with the best balance of search volume, competition and business intent. This allows me to build the entire site structure, content and metadata around these keywords to achieve a stronger ranking.

Since SEO is an ongoing process, I periodically repeat this keyword research to discover new opportunities and adapt the content.

2. SEO structure and heading hierarchy

Using the keyword research, I ensure a clear and logical content hierarchy, with a single H1 that defines the topic, supported by well structured H2 and H3, even in some cases H4 headings. This not only improves readability for users but also helps search engines better understand the content

3. Metadata

I optimize meta titles and descriptions to make them aligned with user search intent. This directly influences CTR (click through rate) in search results. I usually implement these improvements with SEO plugins such as Yoast SEO.

4. Image optimization and page speed

I reduce image sizes, convert images into modern formats as WebP and apply compression without losing quality, this helps to improve loading times and enhance user experience.

5. Content optimization

I optimize content not only with the main keyword, but also by including related terms, synonyms and semantic variations to cover a wider range of queries and improve authority, aligned with search intent and follows a clear structure.

6. Internal linking

Internal linking helps both users and search engines navigate a website, increasing time on site and spreading link equity across key pages. I apply internal links between related articles, categories and service pages.

7. Site responsive

The majority of website traffic comes from mobile devices and tablets. That’s why ensuring a responsive and mobile-friendly design is a crucial part of SEO and user experience. When building websites with tools like Elementor, it becomes easier to adapt all elements so that they look and perform well across all devices.

8. URLs & site architecture

I create clean and user friendly URLs and organize the site structure so both users and search engines can easily navigate and crawl it. I also generate and optimize XML sitemaps to assist in indexing.

9. Indexing

I manage robots.txt using Yoast SEO and sitemap.xml to control what content is crawled, I implement 301 redirects to preserve link equity or avoid duplicate pages. I regularly check Google Search Console to monitor indexation and maintain a clean index.
